About Us

Since 1998, native Houstonian, Julie Jones Shannon has been Principal and President of Julie Shannon Designs, a full-service residential and commercial interior design firm. Julie has spent the last 21 years creating luxury interiors and beautifully livable spaces throughout Houston and beyond. She has an uncanny ability to listen to her clients, anticipate their needs and turn their ideas into stunningly executed projects. Her passion for interior design is contagious among her new and many repeat clients.

 

Julie has an extensive background in both contemporary and traditional interiors, with the ability to exquisitely blend old and new. In tackling any project, Julie goes above and beyond just pulling fabrics and paint colors. She assists her clientele with space planning, construction layout, utilization of furniture, accessories and art. As well as, custom designing furniture, selection of lighting, flooring, tile, millwork, plumbing hardware, among many other detailed services.

 

Prior to creating Julie Shannon Designs, Julie was a partner in JJI Staging, a full-service interior staging firm for residential and commercial properties. She worked closely with many of Houston’s top real estate firms including John Daugherty Realtors and Martha Turner Properties. Julie has also been very active in the Houston Philanthropic community, serving in many top leadership positions within the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, River Oaks Country Club Women’s Association, Episcopal High School, Society for the Performing Arts, Trees of Hope and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

 

Julie and her husband of 24 years, David, have two wonderful children, Serena and Stone. When not working, which is rare, Julie spends her time with family, traveling, needlepointing, horseback riding and gardening.
